Summer Collection – Bulbs, Seeds & Compost

Our Summer Collection is the perfect selection to fill a border from top to bottom and back to front! It has something for every area of the display! Low growing Allium make a lovely display in alpine troughs and rockeries. Taller perennials, such as Liatris are perfect for adding height to the back of borders. We’ve even added some Freesias so you will never be short of cut flowers to perfume your home. This great value collection is the perfect way to add a succession of summer colour to your garden. For best effects, group each species together to create bold clumps of colour.

This collection also includes 10 packets of nurserymans choice flower seeds: This special selection of seeds has something for everyone to get the growing season under way. In this collection you will receive a mixture of different flower seed varieties. To allow us to offer you such a good price, we can’t take orders for specific varieties, but whatever we decide to send, you won’t be disappointed.

Collection comprises of the following bulb varieties:

Gladiolus murielae (Acidanthera) (25 bulbs) – Elegant white blooms with deep burgundy blotch at the base of each petal make a sophisticated addition to late summer borders. Height: 90cm (35″). Spread: 10cm (4″).

Allium Neapolitanum (25 bulbs) – From the Cowanii group this delicate allium will flash a dazzling colour of white among your borders and containers. Height: 40cm (16″). Spread: 90cm (35″)

Brodiaea ‘Queen Fabiola’ (30 bulbs) – Sturdy stems carry multiple clusters of up to 25 lilac-blue flowers. Its long swathes of grassy foliage die back in late spring just as the flowers come into bloom. Height: 30cm (12″). Spread: 10cm (4″).

Freesia Mix (10 bulbs) – A classic mix of colours with an exquisite perfume. Their short, stiff stems make them good border plants and superb cut flowers. Height: 35cm (14″). Spread: 15cm (6″).

Liatris spicata (10 bulbs) – Tall, glowing, mauve-purple flower spikes make a majestic sight in late summer, attracting clouds of bees and butterflies to the nectar rich blooms. Height: 150cm (60″). Spread: 45cm (18″).
